Richard Duszak, MD is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiology at UMMC. Recent past Council Speaker and current member of the Board of Chancellors of the American College of Radiology (ACR), Duszak currently chairs the ACR’s Commission for Leadership and Practice Development and oversees its Radiology Leadership Institute. He is a longtime leader in national physician payment policy, including a former CPT Editorial Panel executive member, and has served on editorial boards of several medical journals and a daily metropolitan newspaper. Recognized by the Academy for Radiology and Biomedical Imaging Research with its prestigious Distinguished Investigator Award, Duszak has been honored as a fellow of the ACR, the Society of Interventional Radiology, and the Radiology Business Management Association.

With a scholarship focusing on radiology health policy, he has authored over 300 peer-reviewed publications and delivered over 500 invited lectures. Duszak came to UMMC from Emory University where he served as Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Radiology. Prior to that, he served as the Founding Chief Executive Officer of the Harvey L. Neiman Health Policy Institute. He previously spent nearly two decades in private practice, serving as president of a large group in his home state of Pennsylvania.
