Dr. Richard Aviv is a Full Professor in Medical Imaging, Division of Neuroradiology, an Affiliate Scientist at the Sunnybrook Research Institute and Associate Vice Chair of Research at the University of Toronto. Dr. Aviv has published over 170 peer-reviewed publications and contributed to several Neuroradiology textbook chapters. His current interests include intracerebral hemorrhage, advanced stroke imaging and MRI biomarkers of cortical integrity in Multiple Sclerosis.

A physician with international experience and licensed for practice in Canada, US, Europe, and the UK. Financial officer and board member for Radiology Practice for 10 years. Administrative experience includes; initiating a transparent, peer-reviewed process for Alternate Funding Plan (AFP) Grant award allocation; active member of the AFP review board; Vice-Chair of the Alternate Funding Plan; Treasurer of the Sunnybrook Medical Dental Midwifery Staff Association (MDMSA).
