Complion founder Rick Arlow was immersed in clinical research during an NIH funded MD/Ph.D. medical scientist training program at Case Western Reserve University, which resulted in publications with several leading journals including Neuroscience. Although he loved the work, he was shocked at how cumbersome operations and regulatory compliance were for the research site and how much time and space were wasted on manual tasks and paper binders.

Inspired by his experience and drawing on his engineering background, Rick built the first version of the Complion software platform, and in close collaboration with leading medical centers, Complion was born. Since then, Rick has built a world-class team experienced in clinical research. His job is to closely listen to the needs of clients and provide the resources and guidance necessary for his team to constantly evolve Complion’s industry-leading workflow and document management software and to provide top tier customer service. He has also presented at various venues and conferences for professional research organizations including ACRP, MAGI, and SCRS.

Previously, Rick was involved with a biotech business resulting in several patents and was recognized in Business Week’s “Top 25 Under 25 Entrepreneurs”. He takes great pride in and feels responsibility for Complion’s contributions to the research community and their efforts to provide new treatments and expand medical knowledge.
