Ricardo Perez DO, JD FACOI is a board certified internist who focuses on hospital medicine and administration. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the College of New Jersey, a medical degree from Rowan University-School of Osteopathic Medicine (Formerly University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey-SOM), a law degree from the Rutgers School of Law-Camden, and has been honored as a Fellow in the American College of Osteopathic Internists..

Dr. Perez started his career in academia as an Assistant Professor at Rowan University-SOM. He was the course coordinator for Medical Jurisprudence lecturing on social media liability, telemedicine, healthcare contracts, and medical negligence. In addition, he served as the Program Director for the school’s Internal Medicine Residency, supervising over 50 residents in training..

Dr. Perez then became the initial Medical Director for Jefferson Health-New Jersey’s newly formed Hospitalist Program. After creating the foundation of that program for two years, he took on the role as Chief of Medicine for Jefferson Health-New Jersey. The focus of this role was on quality, patient safety, medical peer review, and service line development. Currently, he has taken on the additional title of Chief Clinical Officer for Accountable Care. In this position, his task is to prepare Jefferson Health-New Jersey for performance based contracts through improvement of clinical, financial, and data process
