Dr. Forghani completed his MD and Ph.D. degrees as well as radiology residency training at McGill University. He then completed a fellowship in diagnostic neuroradiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. He has specialist certifications with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada and the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Forghani is currently the Associate Chief of the Department of Radiology at the Jewish General Hospital, a tertiary care teaching hospital affiliated with McGill University, and holds the rank of Assistant Professor of Radiology at McGill University. He is a clinical investigator at the Jewish General Hospital Lady Davis Research Institute and Segal Cancer Center. Dr. Forghani’s expertise is in neuroradiology and head and neck imaging. His research background includes molecular and cell biology, animal models of disease, and the use of smart contrast agents for molecular imaging using MRI. He has a special interest in head and neck cancer, advanced imaging, texture-radiomic analysis, and genome-phenotype correlation. He is currently leading an active research program evaluating applications of dual-energy CT as well as radiomic analysis for the evaluation of head and neck pathology, focusing on head and neck cancer. This includes a prospective study of dual-energy CT for tumor staging and radiogenic analysis for non-invasive biomarker development.
