Dr. Adib is a General Surgeon specializing in laparoscopic, gastrointestinal, and obesity surgery. He has special interests in advanced laparoscopic surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery, and hepatobiliary surgery. Dr. Adib commenced his surgical career in 1994 at the Royal Brisbane Hospital as a surgical trainee. In 1996 he was selected to the Advanced Surgical Training program, and subsequently became a Fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2000. Dr. Adib was selected for a Subspecialty Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in Colchester, England; after a year in England, he was accepted as the international Fellow at The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Scotland’s largest center for Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic, and Upper Gastrointestinal disorders.

Dr. Adib is a fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the world’s oldest College of Surgeons. In 2004 Dr. Adib returned to Brisbane and started private practice in laparoscopic gastrointestinal and obesity surgery. In 2006, he established the Brisbane Obesity Clinic. Dr. Adib is a member of the Australia and New Zealand Society of Obesity Surgeons, the International Hepatobiliary Association, the Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons, United Kingdom, and the European Association of Endoscopic Surgeons.
