Renee S. Melfi, M.D. graduated from St. George’s University School of Medicine and went on to complete her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine. She received even more specialized training in Musculoskeletal Medicine and Interventional Spine and Advanced Interventional Spine fellowships at Louisiana State University.

Dr. Melfi was trained by one of the most renowned spinal interventionalists in the world, Dr. Charles Aprill. With more than 15 years of training and experience, she’s so respected in her field that she was the first female instructor for the North American Spine Society Spinal Injection Courses, where she teaches other physicians how to do injections. Dr. Melfi is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Medicine, and Integrative Holistic Medicine.

Dr. Melfi specializes in musculoskeletal medicine and non-operative spine procedures, but what sets her apart is her emphasis on mind-body wellness. She offers patients the tools they need to take charge of their health; focusing on long-term solutions by incorporating complementary treatments such as acupuncture, exercise, diet, and more into her practice. This encourages life-long wellness rather than simply treats illness. Dr. Melfi’s personalized treatment programs, top-notch training, and strong integrity make her one of the most sought-after spine diagnostics physicians in Central New York.
