Dr. Renee Manworren is a founding member and past president of the American Pediatric Surgical Nurses Association. Originally from Chicago, she received her bachelor’s degree from Loyola University and Master’s in Pediatric Nursing at Rush University. She moved to Plano, TX in 1995 and in 2010, she received her PhD in nursing research from the University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Manworren lectures nationally and internationally about pediatric post-surgical pain. Her current research focuses on identifying biopsychosocial and genetic risk factors for challenging to control post-operative pain, as well as interventions to reduce post-operative pain. Dr. Manworren provides direct patient consultation, assessment and treatment for pediatric patients with acute pain, post-operative pain and those at risk for post-operative pain.
