Rene Marten Castelein MD, PhD

Rene After training as an orthopedic surgeon and a fellowship in Spinal Surgery and Pediatric Orthopedics at the 'Alfred I. DuPont Nemours Hospital for Children' in Wilmington, Delaware in the United States, Prof. dr. Castelein worked as an orthopedic surgeon and trainer Orthopedics at the Isala Clinics in Zwolle. In 2002 he was appointed professor of Paediatric Orthopedics and Medical Department Head Orthopedic at UMC Utrecht. In 2007 he was also appointed professor of Orthopedics and became chairman of the Division of Surgical Specialisms. He held this position until 2011, after which he could give full attention to the department, patient care and scientific research.
