Reginald J. Davis MD, FACS

Reginald Davis, M.D., is the Director of Clinical Research and a Neurosurgeon at Laser Spine Institute Tampa. With his devotion to surgical innovation, Dr. Davis keeps Laser Spine Institute at the leading edge of outpatient spine surgery using groundbreaking research and technology. Along with his commitment to patient-centered care, Dr. Davis believes that patients should be taught about their spine conditions.

He understands the importance of empowering patients with education about their condition and the treatments available to them, so patients can make confident decisions about their spine care needs.Dr. Davis always had a passion for helping people. At age 12, he told his school teacher that he planned to attend Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine to become a neurosurgeon. When asked why he wanted to pursue this particular career, he answered that it was because he wanted to help people and he loved science — and that’s exactly what Dr. Davis did.

During his time at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Davis assisted Dr. Ben Carson in the 22-hour successful separation surgery of conjoined twins. His drive for research and teaching later led Dr. Davis to earn the position of Director of Clinical Research at Laser Spine Institute Tampa. His years of experience as a neurosurgeon have contributed to advancements in minimally invasive spine surgery.
