Rebecca S. Wilder, RDH, MS is a Professor and Director of Faculty Development for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. She also serves as Director of the Master of Science Degree Program in Dental Hygiene Education. She is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Dental Hygiene through the American Dental Hygienists Association. She has written numerous textbook chapters and has also served as co-editor for the Second Edition of Mosbys Dental Hygiene: Concepts, Cases, Competencies. Rebecca has served as chair of the ADHA Institute for Oral Health Research Grant Review Committee, the ADHA Council on Research and President of the Oral Health Research Group of the International Association of Dental Research.

In 2007, she received the Alumni Achievement Award from the University of Missouri -Kansas City. She was a Fellow in the 2007-08 ADEA Leadership Institute though the American Dental Education Association. In 2012, she was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU), the dental honorary society. Rebecca has published over 100 articles and abstracts in professional journals and speaks internationally in the areas of nonsurgical periodontal therapy and products, oral-systemic health, risk and dental practice management and communication strategies for increasing patient adherence to oral health.
