Raymond Townsend MD, FAHA

Dr. Raymond R. Townsend, MD, FAHA, is certified in internal medicine, nephrology, clinical pharmacology, and hypertension. He is a fellow of the American Heart Association (AHA) and the Council for High Blood Pressure Research. His research interests include the role of vascular dynamics in CKD progression and the incidence and development of cardiovascular disease in CKD. He was an empaneled member of JNC 8, the co-chair of the 8th AHA Hypertension Summer School, and an Investigator in SPRINT. He was also the AHA Physician of the Year awardee for 2016.
