Dr. Ravishankar Sargur trained in Internal Medicine (infectious diseases, renal, respiratory, intensive care) and then undertook clinical training in Sheffield specializing in Immunology. Since 2009, he has been a Consultant at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He specializes in the investigation and management of problems with the immune system, including allergies.
He has extensive experience in the diagnosis, management and treatment of allergic conditions, including food allergy, anaphylaxis, urticaria (hives), angioedema (swelling), drug allergy, aspirin allergy testing, hay fever, house dust mite allergy, cat allergy and bee & wasp venom allergies. He set up the aspirin nasal challenge and desensitization service at Northern General Hospital. His interests include specialist allergy testing, investigating hidden allergens, and problems with the immune system (antibody deficiency).
