Dr. Ravinder Mamtani, MD, is a specialist in occupational medicine, public health, integrative medicine, and lifestyle medicine. He is a Professor of Population Health Sciences, Professor of Medicine (Center for Global Health), Weill Cornell Medicine, and Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Population Health & Lifestyle Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar (WCM-Q).

Prior to joining WCM-Q in 2007, Dr. Mamtani was a Professor of Preventive Medicine and Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at New York Medical College and a physician at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York, where he also served as the Section Chief of Complementary Medicine and Medical Director, Occupational Medicine Center. He has several years of clinical experience in utilizing complementary and lifestyle medicine in the treatment of chronic diseases such as chronic pain and metabolic conditions. He is a keen researcher and enjoys teaching preventive medicine, public health, occupational medicine, and lifestyle health.

Dr. Mamtani developed and directed the Master of Public Health (MPH) in International Health and a Diploma in Tropical Medicine programs while at New York Medical College. Furthermore, as a Principal Investigator of an NIH (National Cancer Institute) R-25 education research grant, he developed a new curriculum on nutrition and cancer for medical students at New York Medical College (1991-95).

Dr. Mamtani is a diplomate of the American Board of Preventive Medicine in the specialties of general preventive medicine, public health, and occupational medicine. Additionally, he is US Board certified in Integrative and Lifestyle Medicine. He has been an invited speaker on various topics in the US and abroad and published in prestigious peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Mamtani has edited books and written several chapters on contemporary topics.

Dr. Mamtani serves or has served on many government, hospital & medical school committees. He is a member of the New York State Board of Professional Medical Conduct and served as chair of the Global Educational Exchange in Medicine (GEMx) Advisory Committee of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates in the US. In the State of Qatar, he serves on several government/ healthcare system-sponsored committees.
