Ravi Shanbhag

Ravi Shanbhag is Director of Data Science, Solutions and Strategy at UnitedHealth Group, which is the most diversified health care company in the US serving more than 85 million individuals worldwide.

As the Chief Architect of the primary Advanced Analytics platform at UHC Finance, Ravi is responsible for providing technical and strategic leadership in solving complex analytic problems across the Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial businesses. He also has oversight of the Hadoop Adoption Strategy within the Enterprise Data Warehouse for UnitedHealthcare that includes ETL Modernization, Data Federation and Structured \ Unstructured Data Analytics. He has a Masters in Applied Statistics from Penn State, a MBA from Texas A&M and an Engineering Degree in Computer Science from Manipal, India. His research interests include Ensemble Models, In-Memory Analytics, Text Mining and Massively Parallel Computing Models using Hadoop Data Lakes.
