Ravi Ramani, MD Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of the UPMC Integrated Heart Failure Program. Dr. Ramani is responsible for transforming Heart Failure care delivery across the UPMC and has developed clinical care pathways to deliver the highest level of care to heart failure patients at UPMC. He meets weekly with the Dr.'s Muldoon and Rollman, as well as study nurses to provide his unique input at our Trial’s twice-weekly case review sessions.
Dr. Ramani’s research studies the mechanisms of myocardial recovery after the development of heart failure, through the use of mechanical circulatory support. It focuses on reversible and irreversible alterations in pathways of myocyte hypertrophy and fibrosis, with emphasis on microRNA signatures of recovery potential.
