Raul M. Luque is a Full Professor in the Department of Cell Biology, Physiology, and Immunology at the University of Córdoba (UCO) and Group Lead Researcher at the Maimónides Institute for Biomedical Research of Córdoba (IMIBIC). Dr. Luque graduated in Biology from the University of Córdoba in 1997 and obtained his doctorate in Sciences from the University of Córdoba in 2003 thanks to obtaining a scholarship from the Ministry of Education and Science.
Immediately after, he continued his scientific career as a Postdoctoral researcher hired in Dr. Rhonda Kineman's group and later as a Research Assistant Professor” at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC; Chicago, USA). In January 2008, he returned to the University of Córdoba thanks to obtaining a contract as a Ramón y Cajal Researcher in the Department of Cellular Biology. In September 2012 he obtained a position as Full Professor at the UCO and currently directs the research group on OncoObesity and Metabolism (GC27) at IMIBIC/UCO in which he also performs various tasks as Director of the master's degree in Translational Biomedical Research (IBT) at the UCO, Coordinator of the IMIBIC training area and as a member of the IMIBIC infrastructure commission. Since the beginning of his scientific career, Dr. Luque has published more than 125 scientific articles and 30 book chapters has contributed to more than 350 conference communications has directed 6 Doctoral Theses, and is currently directing another 10 Theses. doctoral.
