Prof. Cohrs is a Virology professor at the University of Colorado, School of Medicine, Denver, Colorado, USA. Prof. Cohrs serves as the President of the Rocky Mountain Virology Association (USA). He is a Consultant for Habitability/Environmental Factors, Division of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Houston, Texas. Prof. Cohrs’s research focus is to better understand the molecular mechanism by which VZV latency is established and maintained and the steps involved in virus reactivation. Prof. Cohrs is also President-elect of Rocky Mountain Branch of American Society for Microbiology and founder of the Colorado Alphaherpesvirus Latency Symposium. Moreover, Prof. Cohrs is serving as Vice-chairman, Steering Committee for the ‘Global Translational Medicine Consortium’ (GTMC). Prof. Cohrs serves as an editorial board member for various international peer-reviewed journals.
