Ramon Cugat Bertomeu MD, PhD

Ramon Cugat Bertomeu, MD, PhD, and Orthopaedic Surgeon, is President of the medical council and member of the medical staff for the Catalan Soccer Delegation’s Health Insurance Company under the Spanish Soccer Federation. Director of the Institute Cugat, Center for Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, and Co-Director of the Orthopaedic Surgical Department of Hospital Quironsalud Barcelona. He collaborates as an Associate Professor at the Medical School of Barcelona University, UIC (Catalonian International University).

President of the Board of Trustees for the Garcia Cugat Foundation for Biomedical Research and Co-Director of the Garcia Cugat Foundation – CEU Cardenal Herrera Chair in Regenerative Medicine and Surgery. He belongs to the international team of professors of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS). Numerary member of the Royal Academy of European Doctors (RAED). His latest achievement award from the Order of Civil Merit, handed by King Felipe VI, was granted in June 2019.

He studied at UB (University of Barcelona) and completed his post-graduate and doctorate studies on Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine at the Department of Sports Medicine (Orthopaedic Surgery Department, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts, U.S.A.)
