Ramanarayana Parhi MTech, MSc, PGPX

Mr. Ramanarayana Parhi has over 23 years of experience in IT and consulting in the Biopharma and Manufacturing industry verticals. Ram is currently working as Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Alkem Laboratories, a leading Pharma major in India. In this role, he is responsible for driving the digital-led growth and transformation agenda for Alkem.

Prior to this, he worked as a Client Partner and Portfolio Delivery Leader at Cognizant Technologies Services Ltd. where he managed the IT and business services outsourced by several pharma majors. Prior to joining Cognizant in 2017, Ram was Associate Vice President at Tata Consultancy Services, Mumbai where he worked for over 5 years as Delivery lead in manufacturing vertical and later as Pre-sales lead in Life sciences. He has previously worked in Organizations such as INFOSYS, NISG, and Neptune Industries. Ram has over 6 years of international and cross-cultural work experience in Japan, Singapore, Germany, Spain, and the USA.

Ram has also offered several technical and managerial training programs in companies he has worked for. He has been a guest faculty at JDBIMS, an SNDT College, where he has taught 3 semesters of MIS and ERP courses and 1-semester course on Leadership. He has offered training/lectures at a few Business Schools (TAPMI Mangalore, ISITech Hyderabad, MPSTME Mumbai, etc.) on subjects of interest. He brings a good blend of pharma domain, Information Technology, and business leadership to solve problems and drive transformations.

Ram completed his MSc from the University of Roorkee, MTech from IIT, Kharagpur, and MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. He also has a specialization in Data Science and AI and has an active research interest in the field of AI & ML in the Pharma value chain. In his spare time, he likes to practice his flute and Spanish.
