Ram Lakhan Singh PhD

Professor (Dr.) Ram Lakhan Singh joined Nilamber-Pitamber University, Medininagar, Palamu, Jharkhand as its Vice-Chancellor on 02 June 2020. He served as Professor of Biochemistry and Coordinator, Biotechnology Programme at Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya, India prior to joining this assignment. He held several academic and administrative positions such as Head, Departments of Biochemistry and Environmental Science; Dean, Faculty of Science; Dean, Students’ Welfare and Director, Institute of Engineering & Technology, Member of Executive Council, Member of University Court, etc. in the same University. Professor Singh is a member of the Executive Council of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi for the second term nominated by the Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh. He is also a member of the Board of Management of the Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur, UP nominated by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. He has 31 years of experience as a teacher and 39 years as a researcher.

Professor Singh earned his Master’s degree from the University of Lucknow in 1980 and Ph.D. in 1987 from CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow, India. Professor Singh joined GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand in the year 1988 as Assistant Professor of Biochemistry. He moved to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya, UP as a Reader in the Department of Biochemistry in 1994. In the year 2002, Professor Singh became a full Professor at the same University.
