Ralph S. Mosca is a congenital cardiac surgeon at NYU Langone, I treat people who have congenital heart disease, which includes any structural heart condition that patients have at birth. I see patients of all ages, but I primarily treat newborns and children. Often, pregnant women whose babies have been diagnosed in utero come to me for treatment. In the months before they give birth, I work with them and their referring physicians to develop the most effective treatment plan for when their child is born.
He was drawn to pediatrics because He love interacting with children and their families. As co-director of the Pediatric Congenital Heart Program at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone, I understand my responsibility to my patients as well as their parents, who entrust me with the care of their children. He involve parents in all aspects of treatment, ensuring that they understand every step of the process.
Patients and parents should be confident in the care they receive—at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital, we’ve worked hard to create a culture of pediatric cardiac care from diagnosis and treatment, to discharge and beyond. By assembling a team of expert cardiologists, heart surgeons, child life specialists, maternal–fetal medicine specialists, and nurses, we strive to meet the individual needs of every child and his or her family.
