Ralph Drosten, MD, is Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Utah. He specializes in Cardiothoracic, Oncologic, and PET/CT Imaging and is a member of the Thoracic Tumor Board and the Cancer Committee at the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Dr. Drosten completed Medical School (1992) and Radiology Residency (1998) at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. He worked in academic radiology at the Johannesburg General Hospital and in private radiology practice in South Africa. He then moved to the United States and completed a first Fellowship in Thoracic Imaging at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and a second Fellowship in Oncologic and PET Imaging at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA.

He has been with the University of Utah and the Huntsman Cancer Institute since 2004. He has reviewed 7 books of the Pocket Radiologist series and has written 12 chapters on PET/CT Imaging for Amirsys.
