Rakesh K. Vyas MD

Dr R K Vyas is currently Professor & Head of the Department of Radiotherapy and Medical Physics at the Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He completed his M.D. in Radiotherapy in 1985. He has spent more than 20 years in the field of radiation oncology.

He started his career as a Senior Registrar in AIIMS, New Delhi. Later he was Junior Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and then a Professor. Dr Vyas has held his current position as Director of the Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute since 1997. His overseas experiences include a British Council Fellowship at the Weston park Memorial Hospital, Sheffield, U.K. in 1994 and a UICC Fellowship at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at St. Louis, U.S.A. in 1996. In 1998, he also trained at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney, Australia in 1998.
