Rajiv Rana MD

Dr Rajiv Rana is clinical pharmacologist by training. He completed his doctor of Medicine training in 2001 from Grant Medical College & Sir JJ Group of Hospitals, Mumbai University In academia he has to his credit national and international awards in clinical pharmacology for his research on anti Histamines. He was also awarded the best post graduate student for the year in 2000 for his contribution to clinical research. Dr Rajiv Rana, has over 17 years of pharmaceutical experience that spans across generic and innovator speciality portfolios. He joined the Merck affiliate in India in 2004, where he built medical capabilities within the company to drive educational and post marketing clinical research programs in therapy areas like cardiovasculars, diabetes, oncology and functional food. He was the member of the executive management board and the leadership team for Merck Biopharma (including consumer health) India. He Joined the Asia Pacific Merck Biopharma office in October 2012, to lead the regional medical affairs organization and initiatives for Merck Biopharma covering all therapy areas (Cardiometabolic care/ General Medicine, Oncology, Fertility, Neurodegenerative disorders & Endocrinology) for 14 countries, including China, Japan and Australia. In June 2017, Dr Rajiv Rana was given the additional responsibility of medical affairs in Latin America for 1 year.
