Rajiv Grover BSc, MBBS, MD, FRCS

Rajiv Grover is the former President of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and works as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at King Edward VII Hospital in central London renowned for its Charter to serve the Royal Family. He runs a private practice in Harley Street specializing in Aesthetic Surgery as well as the treatment of skin cancer. Within the NHS he is part of the Reconstructive team based at the North West London Cancer Service. He has a strong interest in improving safety and outcome following Surgery and is responsible for the UK National Audit of Cosmetic Surgery & Safety for the Royal College of Surgeons.

Mr. Grover graduated in Medicine with a triple distinction from London University in 1989. In 1993 he became a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) having been awarded the Hallett Prize and Gold Medal for the highest score in the United Kingdom. He then entered 8 years of higher surgical training in Plastic Surgery during which he was awarded a scholarship from the Royal College of Surgeons to train at Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA. In addition to be being awarded a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) by London University in 1998 he was appointed as a Hunterian Professor at The Royal College of Surgeons.

At the completion of his training he was awarded the FRCS (Plastic) by the Royal College of Surgeons and admitted to the GMC’s specialist register (Registration Number 3333666). He is a full member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and BAPRAS. He is an experienced Plastic Surgeon and runs a well established private practice. All surgical procedures are performed at The King Edward VII Private Hospital which has for several years received awards for being the cleanest hospital in the UK and the only one where no patient has ever acquired MRSA or C. Diff infection since records began.

During his career he has been awarded several national and international prizes. These include awards from the European Association of Plastic Surgeons (EURAPS medal 1996 and 1999) and the American Association of Plastic Surgeons (AAPS Gold medal 2000). For his work in the field of Aesthetic Surgery he has twice been awarded the Hackett Memorial Prize by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS). In 2001 Mr Grover was awarded the Mentor Prize in Aesthetic Surgery by The British Association of Plastic Surgeons (BAPS) for his published work on improving safety in the field of Facial Cosmetic Surgery.
