Rajiv Datta, MD, Chair Department of Surgery, Director of the Division of Surgical Oncology and Head and Neck Surgery and Medical Director of the Mount Sinai South Nassau Gertrude & Louis Feil Cancer Center and Professor of Surgery, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Datta is one of the leading head and neck surgeons in the U.S. and an international leader in surgical oncology.

A fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Datta earned a medical degree from Grant Medical College in Bombay, India, and completed a surgical oncology fellowship at the renowned Tata Memorial Hospital, the largest cancer center in Asia. He completed an internship and residency in general surgery at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. The following year he served as a research fellow at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and chief resident at Maimonides Medical Center. This was followed by a dual fellowship in head and neck oncology and surgical oncology at the prestigious Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, N.Y. He spent two years in the United Kingdom, where he became a fellow at the Royal College of Surgeons.

Dr. Datta's approach to comprehensive cancer care is one that combines the most advanced surgical techniques with a warm and caring attitude that enables both patients and their families to feel comfortable and confident while making important medical decisions.
