Rajan Jain, MD, is a board certified Radiologist with a certficate of added qualification in Neuroradiology and an Associate Professor of Radiology at NYU Langone Medical Center. Dr. Jain is a graduate, post-graduate of Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana, India and has completed his fellowship training in Neuro-radiology from Vancouver General Hospital, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada and University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI. Prior to joining NYU, he was a senior staff in Radiology and Neurosurgery at Henry Ford Health System for 10 years.
Dr. Jain’s areas of clinical and research interest include brain tumor imaging, tumor angiogenesis, tumor genomics and advancement/implementation of functional imaging techniques in assessing treatment response in brain tumors. He has published more than 85 peer reviewed articles and multiple book chapters. He was also the recipient of a prestigious 2-year mentored fellowship grant (GERRAF 2008-10) by the Association of University Radiologists. He has also been actively involved with medical students, resident/fellow education and research for the last 12 years and has mentored a number of radiology, neurosurgery, neurology, radiation oncology and ENT residents. Many of the radiology residents working with him have received acknowledgements and awards for their work/presentations at local and national meetings.
Dr. Jain is currently involved in setting up and promoting use of combined imaging and genomic information (imaging genomics) as well as better implementation of perfusion imaging techniques in the clinical practice helping with pre-treatment planning and post-treatment decision making in patients with brain tumors. He is also currently a member of multiple national organizations, committees and also the lead investigator, advanced quantitative analysis group, NCI Cancer Imaging Program TCGA (The Cancer Genome Atlas) Glioma Phenotype Research Group, a multi-institutional research group. He is an ad-hoc reviewer for many journals and was awarded Reviewer Recognition award by American Journal of Neuroradiology in 2010 and 2011.
