Rainer Lenhardt MD, MBA

Dr. Rainer Lenhardt, M.D. MBA is Professor and Vice-Chair for Clinical Affairs in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Louisville, Kentucky, USA. He finished his residency training in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at the University of Vienna. He then did two years of a research fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. He has published 46 full research papers, including papers in the N Engl J Med and Anesthesiology. His main research interests are the perioperative care of the morbidly obese patient, the difficult airway, perioperative thermoregulation, coagulation, hemorrhagic shock and multimodal analgesia. He is board member of the International Society for the Perioperative Care of the Obese Patient. He is practicing Anesthesiologist and Critical Care Physician at the University of Louisville.
