Dr. Rahul Samanta completed his medical training in Kolkata, India. He continued working in internal medicine in the United Kingdom before moving to Australia. He completed Basic Physician and Cardiology Advanced Training at The Canberra Hospital. In 2014, Dr. Samanta commenced as a Research Fellow at Westmead Hospital and was conferred his Ph.D. in 2020 by the University of Sydney. Dr. Samanta received the Young Investigator award from the Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society in 2014 and 2017 (Second Prize). He has contributed significantly to the scientific community with publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Rahul underwent further training in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing, initially at Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide, and then at Toronto General Hospital, Canada. His special interests include the management of arrhythmias in adult congenital heart disease and ventricular tachycardia.
