Dr. Rahul Pannala is an Associate Professor of Medicine and the Director of the Pancreas Clinic at Mayo Clinic Arizona. He received his medical degree from Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad, India, and completed a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a focus on Epidemiology.

After residency training in Internal Medicine at Bridgeport Hospital/Yale-New Haven, he completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Mayo Clinic Rochester and a therapeutic endoscopy fellowship at Virginia Mason Medical Center, Seattle. Dr. Pannala is a fellow of the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
His clinical practice is primarily focused on pancreatic diseases including pancreatic cancer, cysts, and acute and chronic pancreatitis in addition to therapeutic interventions in pancreatic and biliary diseases. His research is currently focused on the clinical significance and assessment of fatty pancreas and novel imaging modalities for pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. He also has a strong interest in medical innovation and international health.
