Dr. Rahul Goyal is the Physician Clinical Informatics Lead at Mediclinic Middle East. He was trained in the UK (mainly the Northwest). As part of his GP registrar in the UK, Dr. Goyal was involved in setting up patient questionnaire templates for nursing led walk-in Centre clinic this is where his interest in health informatics was kindled. Dr. Goyal also worked in the UK as a partner in Practices in the Northwest before moving to UAE in 2014. For Dr. Goyal, health Informatics means capturing the patients’ medical journey as the patient’s narrative in an organized fashion aiding the clinician to deliver best-practice care by using tools like - Electronic health records- CPOE, clinical decision support, bedside medical device integration, unit dose dispensation.
