Rafael Barrera-Salgueiro, Ph.D. Graduated in Sports from the University of Sao Paulo (2009), Master of Science (Human Physiology) from the University of Sao Paulo (2013), Ph.D. in Sciences (Human Physiology) from the University of Sao Paulo (2018), and postdoctoral in Physiological Sciences by the Federal University of Espirito Santo (2019) and currently holds the second post-doctoral degree in Sciences (Human Physiology) by the University of Sao Paulo. In his master's and doctorate, he worked in the area of neuroendocrine physiology in the Regulation of Hormonal Gene Expression laboratory, researching gene and protein expressions of somatotrophic axis components in response to lactate stimulation. His first postdoctoral degree was developed at the Physical Exercise Molecular Physiology laboratory in projects related to caffeine supplementation and physical exercise. He is currently a researcher in the Adipose Tissue Physiology laboratory, studying the effects of iatrogenic chronic hypercortisolism and its implications for Adipose Tissue plasticity.
