Dr Raf Patel has been a Consultant Interventional Radiologist at Oxford University Hospitals since 2012. He graduated from the University of Manchester Medical School with Honours, is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists. He trained at the Leeds Radiology Academy with dedicated sub-specialty training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology.
Dr Patel specializes in the treatment of arterial and venous diseases, including angioplasty, stenting, and embolisation therapy, treatment of uterine fibroids, aortic aneurysms, and peripheral vascular disease, varicose vein treatment, and vascular access, including port implantation. He reports a range of diagnostic studies with expertise in vascular disorders, including the use of CT, MRI, Doppler, and Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound.
Dr Patel is a tutor and supervisor for radiology trainees and junior doctors in Oxford, a peer reviewer for interventional radiology journals, and an examiner for the Oxford University Medical School. Dr Patel has published papers in peer-reviewed journals, has authored book chapters, and regularly presents educational and scientific work at international meetings.
