Dr. Rachel Riechelmann, MD, Ph.D., is currently Head of Clinical Oncology at AC Camargo Cancer Center, São Paulo, Brazil. Rachel is a medical oncologist and clinical researcher in the field of gastrointestinal and neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). Rachel has completed residencies in internal medicine and medical oncology at Universidade Federal de São Paulo, a clinical research fellowship at Princess Margaret Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada, and earned a Ph.D. in medical oncology at Universidade Federal de Sao Paulo.

Riechelmann's research interests are focused on gastrointestinal cancers, specifically in NETs and colorectal cancer. As for professional engagement, Rachel is the director of the Brazilian Gastrointestinal Tumor Group (GTG) since 2013, member of the Scientific Advisory Board of ENETS since 2019, member of the ESMO Educational Committee of Gastrointestinal Cancers since 2019, and for the past 4 years, faculty of the ESMO-World Congress in Gastrointestinal Cancers.

Rachel also launched 2018 the first NET clinical research fellowship in Brazil, a partnership between AC Camargo and the Brazilian Society of Clinical Oncology. Rachel is a full professor and supervisor of our Graduate Program in Oncology at AC Camargo, where Rachel has six post-graduate students (master's degrees and PhDs). Rachel has published over 90 articles in peer-reviewed journals, and Rachel is the co-editor of the book Methods and Biostatistics in Oncology: Understanding Clinical Research as an Applied Tool.
