Dr. Rachel M. Holden is a nephrologist and an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine with a cross-appointment to the Department of Biomedical and Molecular Sciences at Queen's University. She joined the faculty in 2001. She currently holds a Clinician Scientist award. Dr. Holden and her associates study basic mechanisms of vascular calcification in chronic kidney disease. A focus of her research program is clinical, basic and translational aspects of vitamin K metabolism and specifically the role of vitamin K in the inhibition of vascular calcification.
