Dr. Rachel Piechowiak is a Board-Certified Vascular & Interventional Radiologist at the Vascular Institute of Virginia. She completed her fellowship at New York’s Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2012 and Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey, where she was chosen as Chief Resident. She graduated from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006 and also holds a Master’s Degree in Science.

She is involved in clinical research with topics ranging from Embolization to Cancer. Dr. Piechowiak is leading an International Clinical Study to evaluate the effects of embolization on treatment of knee pain. She is also an investigator on a Cancer study to treat patients who have advanced cancer and back pain with a minimally invasive procedure. She has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals including two Vascular Interventional journals: Journal of Vascular & Interventional Radiology and Cardiovascular & Interventional Radiology.

Dr. Piechowiak has broad clinical expertise, with a focus on the treatment of Womens’ Health Conditions including Uterine Fibroids, Pelvic Congestion and Venous Disease. She also has expertise in the treatment of Peripheral Arterial Disease and Dialysis Access Maintenance. She enjoys cooking, exercise and good humor to round out her life.
