Rachel Ann Sprinkle is heavily trained in healthcare compliance and compliance regulations. She utilizes this professional experience in her current position as the Director of Rural Health & Primary Care with the MS State Department of Health (MSDH). As Director she oversees the administration and administers four federal grants and one state-funded grant. With these grants, my office works to improve access to health care in rural and underserved areas and to reduce health status disparities. In an effort to accomplish this the Rural Health & Primary Care Office empowers communities to strengthen and maintain the best possible health care using existing resources, provide up-to-date health systems information and technical assistance, policy analysis and development, health manpower recruitment, build strong partnerships to meet local and regional needs.

Rachel Sprinkle past's working experience in the insurance industry led to her becoming a professional insurance agent, licensed in property and casualty and life and health. She previously worked as a Supervisor Attorney for the Mississippi Insurance Department (MID) and some of my main duties were to enforce key provisions related to healthcare coverage to ensure compliance with state and federal law. She worked with various consumers, insurance companies, agents, healthcare providers, and hospital administrators. In addition to her role as supervisor and senior attorney, She was also the grant manager, where she oversaw all federal healthcare law-related grant projects for MID. Working for MID granted me knowledge and experience in healthcare reform.
