R. K Saxena PhD

Professor R. K. Saxena is a Biomedical Scientist and has worked in the field of Biomedical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi for about 30 years. He has also served at DRDO, ICMR & AIIMS. After graduation from Lucknow University, Lucknow in 1962, he obtained Bachelor degree in Veterinary Medicine & Surgery from Ludhiana in 1967. He earned Master's degree in 1970 from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and obtained Ph.D. from the Centre for Biomedical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 1990. Dr. Saxena has served at the Hospital Henri Mondor, Paris, France under Indo French Fellowship. Also, He was awarded British Council International Fellowship for Imperial College of Technology & Medicine, London and joined School Medical System where he worked in the field of Cardiovascular Flow. He has worked in the several areas of biomedical Engineering: Cardiovascular & Fluid Dynamics, Orthopaedics Biomechanics, Sports Biomechanics, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and Prosthetics etc at IIT Delhi. He has produced more than 18 Ph D at IIT Delhi. He has published more than 75 research papers in reputed International and National Journals. He has published two books of Biomechanics and several monographs. Presented more than 200 research papers in International and National Conferences, Seminars and Workshops etc. Dr. Saxena has handled and operated more than 20 major projects & consultancies of National and International Level. He has received several honours and awards at national and International level for his research work (Institute Engineers, World Congress of Biomechanics, DRDO Award etc.). Prof. Saxena has held positions as advisor to Bureau of Standards, Govt. of India, Guru Jambehshar State University of Science & Technology, Hisar, DBCR State University of Science & Technology, Murthal and Shobhit University, Meerut, etc.
