Qianxin obtained her MSc and PhD degrees in biomolecular medicine from Imperial College London. During her PhD studies, she worked on understanding the crosstalk between microRNA and metabolites using a metabolic surgery model system in Nigel Gooderham’s laboratory. In 2014, she joined Tudor Fulga lab at Oxford University to develop novel CRISPR based biotechnology (GenERA) to study RNA cis-regulatory elements. Qianxin joined Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute in 2017, she is currently working on developing CRISPR and single cell based technology to study functional regions in the non-coding genome.
