Priscilla Fleming is a board-certified licensed massage and bodywork therapist (LMBT), educator, and published author based in North Carolina, known for her leadership in promoting safety, ethics, and professionalism in the massage therapy field. With advanced certifications in neuromuscular therapy (NMT) and structural bodywork, and commitment to continuing education (APCE), Priscilla brings both technical expertise and thoughtful insight to her diverse roles as clinician, teacher, and advocate.
After becoming licensed in 2019, Priscilla drew from her clinical experience—including confronting and navigating instances of sexual harassment and inappropriate client behavior—to become a powerful voice for personal safety and ethical practice within the profession. She developed the NCBTMB-approved continuing education course Safety & Solicitation: Gaslighting & Power Dynamics, designed to equip massage therapists with practical screening tools, awareness of red flags, and confidence to professionally decline or terminate unsafe client interactions.
Priscilla is also the author of A Bodyworker’s Guide to Soft Tissue Patterns, a resource aimed at helping practitioners understand and address complex muscular dysfunctions. As an instructor at the North Carolina School of Massage and a keynote speaker at industry events, she emphasizes ethical professionalism, client communication, and the critical importance of safety in the treatment environment.
Her writing has been featured in Massage Magazine and other professional outlets, where she addresses topics such as personal safety, stigmatization of the profession, and strategies for creating respectful therapeutic environments. Through her work—both online and in person—Priscilla advocates for greater recognition of massage therapy as a healthcare discipline and supports fellow therapists with education, mentorship, and resources tailored to elevate their practice.
