Preben Bo Mortensen MD, DrMedSc

Dr. Mortensen is the founding director of the National Centre for Register-based Research (NCRR) at Aarhus University, Denmark and Scientific Director of the Lundbeck Foundation Initiative for Integrative Psychiatric Research, iPSYCH. He is an MD and DrMedSc. His clinical training has been in psychiatry and neurology. For almost three decades, he has worked with register-based psychiatric epidemiology. He is an author of app. 450 scientific papers, H-index 54, primarily in the area of epidemiological studies of schizophrenia and other severe mental disorders, as well as studies on suicide. His main scientific interest is to understand the genetic and environmental underpinnings of mental disorders and other developmental trajectories, and to develop unique Danish register and biobank data for these purposes.
