Dr. Prakash Sanzgiri is a Senior Intervention and Critical Care Cardiologist practising at Lilavati Hospital & Research Centre, S L Raheja (Fortis Associate) Hospital, and Shushrusha Citizen’s Co-operative Hospital in Mumbai. He can also be consulted at his own clinic, located at Bandra. He specialises in Critical care Cardiology, Management of Acute Myocardial Infarction, Cardiogenic Shock and Cardiac Arrhythmias.
Dr. Sanzgiri completed his medical education from Seth G S Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai, obtaining First Rank at the DM (Cardiology) post-doctorate super-specialisation examination in 1983. Thereafter, he has chalked up some 28+ years of clinical private practice. Dr. Sanzgiri has been actively involved in the Coronary Intervention programme at the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai for the past 15 years. He has also actively participated in setting up the Interventional Cardiology programme at S L Raheja Hospital in Mumbai, since June 2011.
Dr. Sanzgiri performs about 300 Intervention Cardiology procedures yearly; these include nearly 100 Angioplasties. A small percentage of these cases includes Primary Angioplasties, Angioplasties in Acute Coronary Syndrome, rescue/facilitated Angioplasties and Angioplasty in Cardiogenic Shock. He also implants 8-10 Dual-Chamber Pacemakers each year.
Dr. Sanzgiri’s current areas of interest are Critical Care Cardiology & Coronary Intervention. Over the last three decades he has developed extensive skill in managing patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome, Acute STEMI, failed Thrombolysis & Cardiogenic Shock. Other areas of his expertise are critically ill medical & noncardiac surgical cases. Dr. Sanzgiri regularly participates as speaker and expert panellist in CME programmes of hospitals and medical associations.
