Prakash P. Kotwal MBBS

Dr Prakash P. Kotwal has worked at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, for over 39 years, holding various positions and he rose to the position of Senior Professor and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics.

Dr Kotwal’s area of special interest in Hand and Upper Extremity, Orthopaedics & Joint replacement, Traumatology, Paediatric Orthopaedics. He has obtained advanced training in hand surgery & traumatology from the USA and Germany. He also has expertise in managing complex fractures and dislocations of the upper extremity (from shoulder to fingertips of the hand), including neglected injuries. He has routinely performed total joint replacements of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and small joints of the hand. He has acquired proficiency in the reconstructive surgery of the hand, including congenital deformities/ anomalies, rheumatoid hand and tendon and nerve injuries etc. He is currently the President of the Indian Society for Surgery of the Hand.
