Dr. Pitak-Arnnop is an attending surgeon at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, University Hospital of Giessen and Marburg, UKGM GmbH, Campus Marburg, Germany. She first attended the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, and received her undergraduate dental degree (D.D.S.) with second-class honors in 1999. In 2001, Dr. Pitak-Arnnop completed a Graduate Diploma in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) at Mahidol University before starting her career as an OMFS lecturer at Thammasat Dental School. After moving to France, she was trained in OMFS/Facial Plastic Surgery at Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, University Paris 6 (Pierre and Marie Curie) during 2003-2008 and earned Master of Science (MSc) degrees in research methodology and in research in medical ethics at Laboratory of Medical Ethics and Legal Medicine, University Paris 5 (René Descartes) in 2007. In 2011, she obtained a Doctorate of Medical Science (DSc/Dr. rer. med.) in medical ethics and legal medicine summa cum laude from University Paris 5 (René Descartes) in France, and a PhD in Dentistry (Dr. med. dent.) with magna cum laude at University Leipzig in Germany, where she also completed a medical degree (M.D.).

Since 2018, she has been recognized as a Diplomate of the German Board of OMFS from the German Medical Council, Hesse (Frankfurt), as well as a Fellow of the European Board of Oro-Maxillofacial/Head and Neck Surgery (FEBOMFS, Munich) from the European Association of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery (EACMFS) and the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS: Union Européenne des Medecins Spécialistes). In 2021, she has become a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons (FICS, German Section) and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (London).

In addition to patient care, her efforts are directed at developing minimally invasive techniques and improving outcomes in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery for patients with trauma, tumors/cancers, and deformities of the head and neck. Her research interests also include surgical oncology, oral mucosal diseases, and orofacial pain/headache. Moreover, she is actively engaged in evidence-based medicine, surgical ethics, and medical and dental education.

Dr. Pitak-Arnnop has given numerous lectures nationally and internationally on a broad range of topics related to plastic and reconstructive surgery of the head and neck and has published more than 110 scientific journal articles (101 papers indexed in PubMed; September 2021) with the H-index (SCI) of 18 and the ResearchGate Index of 33.68 (November 2021). She was an invited guest editor of two international journals and sits on the editorial board for six international journals. 21 international journals have invited her to be an expert reviewer.
