Pirkka Vikatmaa worked as a vascular surgeon for 20 years and he treats a wide range of ailments in his specialty. In his private practice, he treats a lot of patients with varicose veins, i.e. venous insufficiency, as well as various arterial side problems in the lower limbs and elsewhere in the body.
In particular, during his career, he has focused on the treatment of diseases of the carotid arteries and the aorta, as well as rare vascular disorders. At Mehiläinen he also researches and treats athletes' blood vessel surface conditions. He also has a special qualification in wound care. In all treatments, he tries to base decisions on researched information and provide patients with as clear information as possible about the disease and treatment options.
