Pietro Mortini (M.D., Specialist in Neurosurgery and ENT Surgery) from 2008 is Chairman of the Neurosurgery Department and of the Gamma Knife Radiosurgery clinical Unit at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele. Prof. Mortini is a graduate with Honourable Mention at Parma Medical School; he completed his neurosurgery residency at the University Hospital in Verona followed by an international fellowship training at The George Washington University Neurological Institute (USA).

He is Director of the Unit of Oncological and regenerative neurosurgery: his major research interests lie in clinical study on neuro-oncology and multimodal treatment of complex Skull Base and Central Nervous System tumors. Pietro Mortini is full-time professor at Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele and Director of the University Master Course in Stereotactic Radiosurgery and of the University Master Course in Skull Base Surgery. He is clinical professor of Neurosurgery at The George Washington University (Washington D.C. - USA).
