Pieter Koopman MD

Dr. Koopman graduated as a doctor at the KULeuven. He also followed studies in civil engineering. During his specialization in cardiology, he received his education in the OLV Hospital Aalst (2006-2007), the Sacred Heart Hospital Roeselare (2007-2008) and the UZLeuven (2008-2009).

Then he trained himself further in electrophysiology in the UZLeuven (2009-2011) and at the Catharina Hospital in Eindhoven (2011-2012) where he specialized in complex ablations. From 2012 he is also affiliated with the University Medical Centre Maastricht (azM), where he also qualifies in cardiovascular genetics.

Dr. Koopman also has a degree in sports medicine from the University of Leuven (2010). He won the European EHRA accreditation both for Cardiac Rhythm Management Devices as for Electrophysiology (2011).
