Pieter Bothma MBChB, MMed

Dr. Bothma trained in South Africa, qualifying as a GP (M Prax Med). Practising in a rural area he had lots of surgical, obstetrics and anaesthetics experience and was fortunate enough to have training in all these. Anaesthetics remained his favourite discipline and he specialised in Anaesthetics in Johannesburg. He did a one-year fellowship in Critical Care in the Baragwanath hospital and then spent several years doing Anaesthetics and Intensive Care in South Africa and in Brunei. He relocated to the UK and specifically to the James Paget University hospital where he could work in the different disciplines of Anaesthetics, Critical Care and Diving/Hyperbaric Medicine.
