Pierre-pascal Girod MD

OA Dr. Pierre-Pascal Girod has been a senior physician at the University Clinic for Neurosurgery in Innsbruck and a consultant physician at the BKH Kufstein since 2013. His surgical and scientific focus is on intervertebral disc and complex spinal surgery (degenerative diseases, trauma, and tumors). During his training, he completed broad surgical, trauma, and plastic surgery training in Vienna and Innsbruck, as well as a fellowship at the University Clinic for Orthopedics in Bordeaux and numerous spinal surgery courses with open and minimally invasive surgical techniques. Dr. Girod is the author of numerous scientific articles and a nationally and internationally sought-after lecturer and surgical trainer. In 2017/18 he spent a year abroad with his family in Geneva and worked at the University Clinic for Neurosurgery as a senior physician in charge of the ward, where he introduced and established the technique of corrective spondylodesis using pedicle subtraction osteotomy. Since 2018, he has again been working as a senior physician in a leading position in the spine team at the University Clinic for Neurosurgery in Innsbruck. In addition, as Austria's leading surgeon in the field of deformity surgery, he has also been caring for his patients in a private practice since 2020.
